A snowy day in Ontario!

Warnings

Owen Sound - Blue Mountains - Northern Grey County
8:38 AM EST Saturday 25 February 2012
Snow squall warning for
Owen Sound - Blue Mountains - Northern Grey County issued

Snow squalls continue to the south and east of Lake Huron and the south of Georgian Bay. Local snowfall amounts of 15 cm are likely in snow squalls with snow continuing into this afternoon in some areas. In addition strong northwest winds gusting to 60 km/h will cause frequent very low to nil visibility in blowing snow.

Motorists should note that dangerous winter driving conditions are possible due to zero visibility in bursts of heavy snow and blowing snow. Snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour are possible in these snow squalls.

The snow squalls are expected to slowly weaken into flurries by late this afternoon.

Please refer to your local public forecast for further details.

Art trading cards I painted (2.5 " X 3.5"). The paintings on the left are Bev Morgan's (my teacher) and mine are on the right, including the cactus.

We went to Cirque in Toronto on Boxing Day. Went to the Old Spaghetti Factory (again!) and got a table in the caboose!! The show was very good...unbelievable what they can do!!

We went to the St Lawrence Market the next morning to get some Mizithra cheese to make our own Spag a la Homer. Then we went to the ROM that afternoon to see the Mayan exhibit. Very good...but doesn't come close to the real thing under the Mexican sun! Look closely at the Christmas Tree at the ROM. Mexican blankets, sombreros...really neat. The painting (yes, it's a painting!) of the man is also at the ROM. They had several lifelike paintings...we were 'drawn' to this particular one. Beautiful.

Dottie enjoyed at night's stay at Howard and Anne's farm. She loved it!

Happy New Year everyone!!

Wednesday afternoon here. Grey skies with temp around 5C. Expecting 9C overnight, then a snow storm's rolling in on Friday. We're ready for it!

I opened the first advent calendar treat today. A wooden birdhouse to paint, thanks! Cute! I'm going to paint it and put it on the window ledge of my 'studio'. We're one day behind on the calendar, so Randy gets to open one when he gets home from work tonight. :)

Missing my ocean, buffet, heat, sun, Corona, pina coladas...boohoo! Had a little tear leaving the beautiful beach behind on Monday, but we'll be back for sure....and maybe you'd like to come too??

Randy's getting excited about his trip to Costa Rica. It sounds like a beautiful spot. Then in March, we may be heading to Orlando for our 'free' trip through the Cancun outfit. Another timeshare, but we'll get through it!

If you get a chance to have jicama or cactus salad, it's a must! Had it for the first time in Mexico and couldn't get enough of it. Both were on the buffet everyday.

Love you lots. Take care and safe travels.

Finished the painting for Paul. Very happy with it! Can't wait to give it to him on Sunday. We're meeting them at the Old Spaghetti Fact for dinner. And...got my diploma yesterday. 2 years in the making!!
