We went to Cirque in Toronto on Boxing Day. Went to the Old Spaghetti Factory (again!) and got a table in the caboose!! The show was very good...unbelievable what they can do!!

We went to the St Lawrence Market the next morning to get some Mizithra cheese to make our own Spag a la Homer. Then we went to the ROM that afternoon to see the Mayan exhibit. Very good...but doesn't come close to the real thing under the Mexican sun! Look closely at the Christmas Tree at the ROM. Mexican blankets, sombreros...really neat. The painting (yes, it's a painting!) of the man is also at the ROM. They had several lifelike paintings...we were 'drawn' to this particular one. Beautiful.

Dottie enjoyed at night's stay at Howard and Anne's farm. She loved it!

Happy New Year everyone!!

Wednesday afternoon here. Grey skies with temp around 5C. Expecting 9C overnight, then a snow storm's rolling in on Friday. We're ready for it!

I opened the first advent calendar treat today. A wooden birdhouse to paint, thanks! Cute! I'm going to paint it and put it on the window ledge of my 'studio'. We're one day behind on the calendar, so Randy gets to open one when he gets home from work tonight. :)

Missing my ocean, buffet, heat, sun, Corona, pina coladas...boohoo! Had a little tear leaving the beautiful beach behind on Monday, but we'll be back for sure....and maybe you'd like to come too??

Randy's getting excited about his trip to Costa Rica. It sounds like a beautiful spot. Then in March, we may be heading to Orlando for our 'free' trip through the Cancun outfit. Another timeshare, but we'll get through it!

If you get a chance to have jicama or cactus salad, it's a must! Had it for the first time in Mexico and couldn't get enough of it. Both were on the buffet everyday.

Love you lots. Take care and safe travels.

Finished the painting for Paul. Very happy with it! Can't wait to give it to him on Sunday. We're meeting them at the Old Spaghetti Fact for dinner. And...got my diploma yesterday. 2 years in the making!!

Paul's painting of his Gaspe starfish is almost done. I was so happy about how it looked after I put the first bits of shading on! More shading to do and detail on the driftwood. Can't wait to get back to it! I'll be working on it in the studio, looking out at the falling snow today.

A chilly day here. Going to get the Christmas lights up outside....why didn't I do that when the weather was warm?? Wouldn't be the same without freezing my hands off though! It's my own tradition :)

Going to go shopping in Barrie tomorrow with Brenda and Amy. Not sure if they're into Value Village, but hoping!

Have a great day!

Working on the little project for Paul (his Gaspe starfish/rocks), then onto the barn Christmas winter scene...which I think is the first in the CJK series (?) Chris Jan Kellie series? A beautiful day here. May be the last of the above 10C weather...might as well have snow now! Bring it on! Can't wait to see the view from the studio window.

Little Dottie asleep on the couch this morning. I couldn't figure out what she had in her mouth, then saw her tongue sticking out! Sweet!

Welcome to my world today!

Hi Mom and Dad! Sounds like you've had a great start to your vacation. Can't beat the states for a great time!

Randy and I had a quick drive into town and went to the A&W for a cold rootbeer. With their Fiesta burger on promotion (I remember Dad's story!), they had pinatas around the restaurant and Randy walked headfirst into a big pinata shaped like a cowboy boot! I heard a thump and did we laugh!! Well, that was our night out!

Safe travels and enjoy your 2nd day on the road.

We love you.
